Hey all

I've had some trouble with this LR question.

When I did this problem, I think I mistakenly diagrammed one of the premises as: Feeling of insensibility --most--> sphere of family and friendship.

Can someone explain how this is properly diagrammed?

I think @akistotle wrote a really great answer explanation. -- which helped clear things up a little bit. With respect to this "shift in domain," this is my first time seeing it ( I got tricked into diagramming this as just a most arrow btw "can feel needed" and "sphere of family and friends"). How often does this happen? What other LR questions also test this "shift in domain"? Thanks.

MSS; Lawgic, shift in the domain, pushing out an inference

(1) [Domain: All people]

Happy –> Feel Needed

(2) [Domain: Most people]

Can Feel Needed –> Sphere of Family and Friends

*(1) is applied to most people.

Can Be Happy –> Can Feel Needed –> Sphere of Family and Friends"

    Hi @jacquestoupin470,

    Thanks for reading my Cookie Cutter Review. I'm glad you found it helpful!

    When you represent something in the form of A -m→B, you have to be aware what "A" means here.

    A -m→B = Most As are Bs = More than 50% of A are B.

    So, if you wrote:

    Feeling of insensibility --most--> sphere of family and friendship.

    What would this mean? Most of the feeling of insensibility are coming from the sphere of family and friendship? Is that what the stimulus say?

    If I were to use the Most arrow, I would write:

    People in modern society -m→ can feel needed → sphere of family & friends

    As for the "shift in the domain," I usually write it as "shift in the noun (subject)" or "divergence of sets." There are so many that I can't make a list right now, but a Flaw question like PT31.S2.Q18 (https://classic.7sage.com/lsat_explanations/lsat-31-section-2-question-18/) can also be an example of this.

    Hope this helps!

    most know job done by others

    happy -> needed -most-> familly

    the 4 wrong AC's can be eliminated by process of elimination

    and if you squint hard enough E is just a contrapostive

    /(needed most family) -> /happy
